Textile art is a broad and beautiful field encompassing everything from weaving and embroidery to quilting and fibre dyeing. It's about transforming thread and fabric into expressive works of art, using a variety of techniques and materials.
Hello there, I’m Caroline.
I'm here to guide you on your textile art journey, no matter your skill level.
My fascination with textiles began long before I ever considered it a career. Growing up, I was surrounded by my grandmother's incredible woven tapestries. Witnessing how she transformed simple threads into captivating stories sparked a deep appreciation for the power of textiles. This early influence laid the foundation for my own creative exploration.
I dabbled in fashion design and traditional quilting techniques, but it wasn't enough. I craved more creativity. That's when I discovered textile art – a world where I could transform fabric into anything I imagined.
My signature style? "Embellishing the Surface" – creating textures that make you see fabric in a whole new light. I use chopped fabrics, raw edge applique, and thread painting to bring my visions to life. Sewing machines are my brushes, fabric is my paint.
I take great pride in the journey and work that has led me to this moment and the evolution of my role as a teacher and event facilitator in my business.

This passion for textile art extends beyond my own creations. I travel the world, sharing my techniques through workshops on fabric embellishment and textured surfaces. Witnessing the spark of creativity ignite in others is a deeply rewarding experience. I also curate exhibitions showcasing the work of talented artists, giving them a platform to share their art with the world. Back home in Australia, I host sewing events, creating a vibrant community for like-minded individuals. My desire to create a supportive and inspiring environment for textile enthusiasts lies at the heart of The Textile Collective. My Textile Art workshops provide a space for fun exploration, where delegates can experience the transformative power of textiles and create beautiful artworks that they can be proud of. The Digital Cloth magazine serves as a creative haven, a platform that connects and celebrates artists, designers, and art enthusiasts of all backgrounds. Through retreats and events, I strive to foster a sense of belonging and connection, creating unforgettable memories and exciting experiences for participants.
